To Be Continued…

We were ten minutes from being out the door this morning. I was walking past the bed and hit my pinky toe on the bed leg. I heard it crack. Doug heard it crack. It’s broken. I can’t walk. I can’t put any weight on it, not even on my heel. The walk is over for now. We only had 212.75 more miles to go. I’m so disappointed that I can’t even cry. I can’t believe it’s ending this way. A friking pinky toe. I think we will stay here one more night and then try to find a bus to Hong Kong. I’ve tried to convince myself that it’s not as bad as I think but every time I try to put weight on it, reality tells me otherwise. I’m praying for a miracle. I’m trying to will my little toe to heal itself. I can’t believe that we have walked over 900 miles and it’s ending this way. I couldn’t have broken a finger or my nose? I feel heartbroken.

Oh NO! 🙁 I’m so sorry to hear this Micae… but you have nothing to be unhappy about.

You’re both amazing and have accomplished SO MUCH. In the time you’ve been walking, I’ve mostly watched a lot of television… AND I bumped my toe on the coffee table so it’s all bruised up without me even burning any calories to earn the injury.

Healing prayers for complete restoration of your toe. I’m so sorry for this, how disappointing for you both. Healing light and miracle faith to you.

At least it is not malaria. Keep up your spirits. You made it so far and met so many people. Just the fact that you embarked on this adventure is more than an accomplishment. What you have done is not even something that I would ever imagine. If this adventure is over then it is time to plan your next. A few extra days in Hong Kong is always a treat.

I wish I could. We are going to stay here for a few days and see how it feels. Even if it does feel better I’m not sure it would be “I can walk 18 miles a day better.”

What a disappointment! So close!!! So close!
I was just shopping online for equipment to help me with my upcoming mobility limitations resulting from my big and second toe surgery. We can trade toe stories.
    Looking forward to your homecoming,
    Mernie

Hi, sorry about the toe! Give it a few days rest & see how it goes. You might go to a doctor, but there is not much that can be done for a toe. You could always get a cast. Please keep us advised!

We will finish. I promise myself that. It will just have to wait until December-January or next June. I’m going to do it.
